A skincare routine that you will actually enjoy

The phrase “skincare routine” may sound intimidating for many women out there. With so many skincare products, devices, and treatments available on the market today, making a choice on what to pick can give you a headache. The truth is, your skincare routine doesn’t have to be complicated, time consuming and expensive to be effective. Is there a skincare routine that you will actually enjoy?

In the real world, most of us don’t have a 10-step skincare with regular facials and treatments. Not everyone is aware that Vitamin C and Retinol shouldn’t be used together and that fragrance in skincare products might lead to breakouts. However, it is important to start somewhere so you can slowly see improvement and start enjoying your routine.

In the beginning its important to keep it as simple as possible. And trust me, it will still be effective if you stick with it. Start out with a simple 3-step routine: cleanse, nourish and protect.

3-step skincare routine

Cleansing your skin in the morning and night is important. Use a gentle cleanser suitable for your skin and make sure to remove all the dirt and makeup before going to bed. For a deeper cleanse and light exfoliation, you can use something like our Lucky Skin Brush. It gently removes dead skin cells, oil and dirt. Its waterproof, low maintenance and only needs to be charged once in 3-4 months. It's so easy to use that it becomes a perfect addition to any skincare routine. Nourishing and moisturizing your skin is a necessary step you can’t afford to skip. Your skin will love you for it. There are plenty of serums and moisturizers out there to choose from. Before you pick one, there are two things you’ll want to consider – your skin type and your specific concern. Carefully check the label and product box for this information. Most skincare products are labeled for skin type, such as sensitive, dry or oily. Some may also be labeled for acne-prone skin or anti-aging if these are your primary concerns. The ingredients in various skincare products can appear overwhelming if you read the labels. Unless you’re a chemist, it will be easier to rely on the targeted skin types and focus of each product. Lastly, don’t skip the sunscreen! Winter or summer, rain or shine, use at least SPF 30 and reapply every two hours. If you want healthy skin, sun protection is a must! The regular use of sunscreen helps to protect you from UVA rays that damage collagen and elastin in the skin. Collagen and elastin help the skin retain its firm, youthful look. It also can help you avoid sunburns that may increase your risk of skin cancer. Protecting your skin is the last step in the simple three-step process.

Enjoy your skincare routine. There’s no need to overwhelm yourself. Once you figure out how your skin reacts to certain ingredients, you can always customize your skincare needs or add more steps and devices.
